CSI Case File 165

I have been back from Bali for nearly a week and am (slowly) catching up....
The colour combo in the case is gorgeous - absolutely love it!
(Is that because there is no RED???)

Here is the Case File and the link...

This case doesn't close until the 11th of June, so you still have time to join in...

I have started playing more with my water colour paints, and the yellow and pink tones worked really well.  I love the yellow and pink frangipanis, I took this photo (heaps of them of course!) in Bali..  My last couple of trips there has resulted in a new creative streak coming out in me - I have started to take painting lessons, so this layout is about thanking Bali for opening up this new creative outlet.
And of course, the frangipani is such an icon of Bali...

Create. Live. Love.

(and Stay Calm... and Never Give Up!! lol)

Scheme: All colours accounted for.
Evidence: Tags and quote tags, penwork, lightbulbs, I could almost say dots... the strips of black bling? And ribbon - to attach the tags.
Testimony: My journaling is on tag #1, (journal on tags) and is about being grateful to Bali.  I guess it is also about a 'new' creative space!

I have used watercolour paper and paints, and some tags and strips from 7 Dots - Domestic Goddess.  I love the colours in that range...
I added a few Prima lightbulbs at my tags, as a reminder to myself to be grateful - always!

Loved playing with this file... thanks CSI - solved!

Cheers, Vicki (CSI DT)

CSI Case File #164

I am a little late posting this - having Bali internet issues....

Here is the link:
Here is the Case File
(I just love these little images for the files.... )

Sometimes challenges are very challenging!!!!

I almost shudder when I see red and immediately think "what am I going to do with that???"   lol
Then, when I look through photos.... it is surprising what jumps out to be used. And I am so glad I never 'caught up' with all photos from years ago, when the kids were small.
There is always a positive side!

So here is the challenge for case #164

And here is my take on it....

Oh, The Places You Will Go!

Scheme:  All colours accounted for (although the lime looks a little citrusy in the photo)
Evidence: Transportation accents (compass and the tyre track washi), clock, brads (one anyway - on the tag, cogs and gears, wet medium (water colour paints), polka dots (do splatters count?), speech bubbles (for the title).
Testimony: My journaling is written on the (just) hidden tag in a 'how to' format, as in trying to get Zac to use the pedals, while he insisted on using his feet... this actually never changed!

And some close ups....

You can't really see in the photos, but some of the water colours I used were H2Os, so there is a bit of a sheen to them, so beautiful.

I used the white Gelly Pens - OMG they are so good, and I think I have tried every white pen ever made over the years... I have found THE one now - might have to get all the colours...
How good does it look on the black cardstock???

I wonder how much paint ended up on his 'canvas'? lol

This was such a magical time, he was such a beautiful, easy going little boy. And so cute!

Another case solved - I feel like I am on a roll!

Thanks CSI - loved this one too!

Cheers, thanks for checking this out - please comment if you visited...

1st May  (Well, it is the 8th really!) I am in Bali with Hit and Miss Internet.... lol

My First Major Case for CSI!!!!

Case File # 163

And it is so me!
These would have to be among my fave tones - bold, vivid, cool... - and NOT primary!  I also had these photos that I had taken (just outside the bedroom) in January... so this Layout was a lot of fun and I even forgot to be nervous.
Most importantly, I hope I have solved it!

Here is the case, and because it is the major case for the month, it also comes with a cool sketch.

I feel so blessed to involved with this amazing team, and hope that I can do the role of Detective the justice it deserves!
Thank you so much CSI for having me!

So... drumroll.... here is my (VERY FIRST!!!) layout for CSI... tadaaaaa!!!

Go. Seek.

Scheme:  All colours accounted for
Evidence: Frogs, monogram (F), washi tape (newspaper & aqua), scallops (black cardstock), checkered pattern (on the tag, checkered stencil used with texture paste), textured paper (I used a piece of white cardstock I had oversprayed on from another layout, so I dampened it and scrunched it up, making it wrinkled)
Testimony: Write in the form of an apology.  (on the back). When I first spotted this I was about to turn the fan on - and I was almost touching him when I noticed he was even there! He apologized for the scare, but did not look too apologetic!

And here are some close ups...

Such a happy little guy...

So, there it is  (sigh sigh)  done and dusted!
And as usual, I had such fun solving this cool case at CSI.

Follow the link above to join in - this is one open all month.

Cheers, Vicki.

CSI Case #CC-5

http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/forum/topics/collaboration-case-file-no-cc-5-case-closes-on-may-31-2015ile

Here is the link for this challenge.....
It closes on 31st May so you have plenty of time!

And the Case File....

This is actually my second attempt at this - could not get the first one to 'happen' for me... I might go back to it later....
(not that I was putting myself under any pressure... lol!)

I have just got my first pair of graduated lens glasses - a big thing for me, because I have been putting it off for a long time, preferring to have smaller glasses with a single vision lens - and just look over the top of them to see long distance clearly.  And because I have put it off for so long, it has become even harder to get used to the bigger glasses on my face!
I am still in two minds about them.....

Here is my layout for CC-5 Special Collaboration Case
- featuring the above mentioned glasses!

It's Time

Scheme: All colours accounted for. (the colour In the glasses has photographed yellower than it really is!)
Evidence: Scallops (dainty piece of German Scrap and the edging), flowers, paint (I used water colours to colour in some glasses lens), decorative border (my favourite old trusty scallop punch), punches (again the use of the trusty scallop  punch along the edge).
Testimony: My tabs (Pros and Cons), document how I feel about this big move to graduated lenses - and the story behind the 'granny look'.

Here are some close ups...

My journaling - 2 different points of view
(the single one is on the back of the one on the right - Pros)

I love strong vibrant colours, so this one was lovely to do - even if I don't usually use purple - not sure why, because I love it!
My first attempt was much more pastel toned, maybe that's why I am not so keen on it... much more comfortable with bold!

Thanks CSI - another great case!

Thanks for stopping by, and please leave a message so that I know you have been!

Cheers, Vicki
